Officially Back!

Posted September 1, 2013 by Whitney in Uncategorized / 4 Comments

I’m officially back to the blogging world!  I technically returned last week but it took several days to get my head back in place, for blog posts and the craziness of my brother’s wedding.

Let’s start with my brother’s wedding shall we?  It was beautiful, there is no other way to describe it.  My brother and sister-in-law’s wedding was held outside in wooded Wisconsin.  For the week leading up to the big day those fickle weather people had been predicting rain the entirety of August 17th.  We had no back-up plan, what would we do if they were right?  Talk about stress!  We were so lucky, it was the perfect day without a rain cloud in sight.

The bride and groom are big foodies (particularly Mexican) thus food was very important.  The food was excellent, and like dry eyes, I don’t think there was a single plate that wasn’t licked clean.  They are also big music fans, thus a great play list was essential, with a vast array from Frank Sinatra, Micheal Jackson and Wide Spread Panic.  It was just plain fun and I, who is ever the introvert, an observer rather than a doer was on the dance floor most of the night — who would have thunk?

Anyway, I may be biased but it was by far the best wedding I have ever been to.

After the wedding, my family decided to stay an extra week and was able to get quite a bit of reading done.

  1. Queen’s Gambit by Elizabeth Fremantle
  2. The Almond Tree by Michelle Cohen Corasanti
  3. The Letter by Kathryn Hughes
  4. Mrs. Poe by Lynn Cullen
  5. On The Pulse of Morning by Maya Angelou
I’m working on writing up these reviews right now so check back in a few days for my regular review postings on Wednesday and Friday
