To Be Read Thurs

To Be Read Thursday is a weekly meme I created to help make me accountable for my tbr pile.  Each week, I will feature one book from that ever-growing mountain that I plan to read in the coming week.

Add to Goodreads

In New York Times bestselling author J.A. Jance’s latest thriller, Ali Reynolds faces her most controversial mystery yet, solving the murder of a man whose Ponzi scheme bankrupted hundreds of people, and left them seeking justice…or revenge.

When Ali’s parents lose their life savings to a Ponzi scheme, her father goes to confront his long-time friend and financial advisor, only to stumble into the scene of a bloody double homicide. With her father suddenly a prime suspect, Ali and her husband work to clear her father’s name, while at the same time seeking justice for her parents as well as the scheme’s other suddenly impoverished victims, one of whom is a stone cold killer.

Why it is on my to read list

I discovered the Ali Reynolds series a few years ago and fell in love. I have only read the most recent novels in the series and plan to continue with Clawback. Hopefully, I will read the earlier mysteries at some point too.

  1. The Passenger by Patrick A. Davis is on my To Read List for this week because my husband read it and said, “You gotta’ read this.” He purchased this book at Half- Price Books (1999 publication). It is about an investigation into a plane crash, and he says the characters are done well and the book has “twists and turns” (my favorite thing!).

    • Twists and turns are excellent — they really keep you on your toes. The Passenger sounds really interesting, I’ll have to look it up on Goodreads. Whenever anyone starts a reccomendation with “You gotta read this.” I become Barney Stinson “Challenge excepted!” It becomes a must read. I hope you enjoy it and thank you for sharing.

      • I love it when someone likes the “sound” of a book I’m reading and wants to read it to…even if the words “read it eventually” are used. Ha ha!

        • It is always a good feeling when someone picks up a book based on your reccomendation. Although, I think I need to find a different (or better) description word than “sound” I think it is overused on my account!
