Monthly Review: January 2013

Posted February 2, 2013 by Whitney in Monthly Review / 6 Comments

First, for my New Year’s Resolutions progress

  1. Do not go crazy with reading challenges: I am borderline here
  2. Comment on at least 5 blogs a day:  I’ve been doing okay with this, some days I comment on anywhere from 0-2 blogs and on others I comment on 10 so I’ll give myself a passing grade here.
  3. Continue with the blogging schedule I started at the end of 2012:  I have stuck to the schedule but this also means that not all the books I read in a month will go up in that particular month.  For example, I have four books read in January who’s reviews will not be going up until February.  Does that make sense?
My schedule is:
Monday: Movie Review
Tuesday: Top Ten Tuesday
Wednesday: book review
Thursday: freebie
Friday: book review
Saturday: freebie
Sunday: write up post for following week
Now for the stats
Currently Reading:
1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
Read:
  1. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
  2. Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder

  4. On the Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder
  5. By the Shores of Silver Lake by Laura Ingalls Wilder
  6. Cheri by Colette
  7. Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Favorite Read: Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Least Favorite: N/A I loved all the books I read this month

  1. It sounds like you had a great month, reading-wise. The only one of those that I read is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (my favorite HP book so far, we'll see if that changes when I get to The Deathly Hallows). Are they good?

    • I love this series, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is one of my favorites too. (Umbridge reminds me of Sarah Palin) I think The Deathly Hallows is a strong finish to the series, I hope you like it!

  2. I think you're being very ambitious in your resolutions and your blog schedule and I admire you for sticking to it!

I did a re-read of many of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books last year and so enjoyed that sense of nostalgia. I hope you had fun with them, too!

    • Thanks, fingers crossed that I can stick to said resolutions/schedule this month too!

I loved the sense of nostalgia while reading the Little House books as well and hope to get to the rest of the series later this year.

  3. I love that you have a regular blogging schedule you stick to. I keep saying I'll make one and adhere it, but somehow it never gets done.

P.S. Your February books have got me incredibly excited. I just might have to steal some ideas from it. 🙂
