Harry Potter Blogathon

Posted October 17, 2016 by Whitney in Event / 14 Comments

Like most children raised in the 90s I love Harry Potter. I read the books every year have seen the movies countless times, and fangirl over anything Harry Potter related. Therefore, I am very excited about the new movie coming out in November Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This got me thinking, why not host a Harry Potter Blogathon to release some of this pent-up excitement.

This Blogathon will run the week of November 14 – 18 and anyone is welcome to join me. Unlike the restricted section of the library, participants can take part in any way they choose, my only request is that is in regards to reviewing the adaptation of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. If anyone is so lucky to see the movie before its worldwide release, please hold off posting a review until Friday the 18th and mark with spoilers if you feel the need arises. There is no need to ruin it like that speed reader who spilled the beans that Snape killed Dumbledore. Also, please don’t feel limited to only reviewing the books and films.  If there is a Harry Potter memory you’d like to share or your thoughts on costumes or the remarkable age difference between Krum and Hermione in the Goblet of Fire movie go for it! I will not shoo you away like Madam Pince.

Anyway, with that being said, if this idea sparks your interest and you’d like to partake in the event please leave a comment below stating what book, film or Harry Potteresque subject you will be contributing and what day it will be posted.  Also a link to your blog would be great too.  I will then create a roster of participants.
Note: Overlap days and subjects are fine

  1. This sounds like fun! I’d love to participate, although I do not know in what capacity as yet. Not a movie or book review certainly. Some sort of feature article. I’d like to get back to you on that one later.

I’m excited about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

  2. Oh, I LOVE this idea. I had a whole HP month in October and I’m continuing over for November (feel free to check the page at the top of my blog that says Harry Potter Month for already posted things!), so I’ll definitely take part. There are a variety of things that I still need to post about, so I’ll check my schedule and see what works for me next week! I’m sure I’ll have one or two things during next week. I can’t wait for Fantastic Beasts!!!
