First the Cubs Now This?

Posted November 12, 2016 by Whitney in Uncategorized / 3 Comments

The world did not end when the Cubs won the World Series but after Tuesday’s election results I am more uncertain than ever and feel the “Cub’s Goat” is having the last laugh.

I’m sure like many, I watched the election results in disbelief, it took me days to grasp the new reality and even now, as I write this post I am still waiting for this nightmare to end.

I can only wish that the next four years will not be an ongoing episode of The Apprentence. However, what concerns me the most is not even this presidency but the persons who voted republican. To me, it signifies an anger, hatred, and bigotry in our country and fear unity is now beyond our reach.

As a woman with cerebral palsy, I will morally never be able to support this President. I am shaken to my core that this is who America has chosen to represent them and no longer believe in a place called hope.

  1. I applaud you for being willing to openly talk about this on your blog. I decided to post my favorite diverse reads in response, but I totally agree with you. It isn’t surprising, sadly, but I have spent the last several days trying to come to terms with it. I’m still holding out a tiny amount of hope, but I guess we’ll have to see what happens between now and December 19th.

    • Thank you, this is such a precarious time and couldn’t brush my thoughts under the rug. I agree it didn’t completely surprise me but was shocked nonetheless. I’m still holding a tiny bit of hope as well but have to prepare myself for a less-favorable outcome. Regardless, we will have a very interesting four years and some great snl skits
