Friday Memes #15

Posted August 6, 2010 by Whitney in Friday Memes / 21 Comments

It’s Friday! Time for another Book Blogger Hop hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books The Hop is designed to discover great book bloggers and be discovered yourself. Not only can we discover new blogs but great books to add to the ever growing wish-list. So hop on over and join the fun!

This week’s question:
Do you listen to music while you read?

Nope, I like peace and solitude when I read.  Occasionally, a family member plays 60s and 70s on their itune dock (reliving their youthful years)  but I tend to block it out as it doesn’t jive well with Pride and Prejudice.  Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable”  is more my pace.

  1. I'm surprised at how many people need quiet to read-I've always been able to listen to music while reading, though anything with a narrative (like the TV or NPR)in the background will throw me off. Have a great weekend!

  2. Oh for peace and quiet when I read. And I agree with Heather, when the TV is on is the worst. It's okay if it's on, actually, but the volume has to be very very low.

Hopping on over to say hello. Silence is indeed beautiful… but once in a while, a little Mozart can be nice. 🙂

  4. Hi, found you through the hop and now following! I can see why '60s and '70s music really wouldn't work well with P&P, lol. Happy to find another Austen fan!

  5. I am stopping by from the Hop. I love your site!

Natalie Cole's album where she re-did all of her dad's songs is amazing to read to. I used to study with it on in college.
